In reply to the 2nd. paragraph of your
Despatch No. 137 of the 23rd. of April, 1901, which I regret
has remained so long unanswered, I have the honour to inform
you that the Authorities of the Chinese College of Medicine
recognise that it would be useless at present to ask the
General Medical Council of Great Britain to recognise the
College as an examining Body, because the course of study and
qualifying examination is owing to the want of an Anatomical
School and other disadvantages, not yet up to the minimum
standards required by the Imperial Medical Acts.
